Người dân trong làng An Bằng khi đã có cuộc sống sung túc, đủ đầy thì họ bắt đầu suy nghĩ đến mồ mả, thiết kế lăng mộ cho ông bà, tổ tiên đã mất. Với tâm lý người sống nhà cao cửa rộng thì người đã mất cũng phải được chôn cất tại nơi khang trang, đẹp đẽ nên nhưng lăng mộ nguy nga, tráng lệ đua nhau mọc lên tạo thành khu lăng mộ đệ nhất ở Huế.
Nếu ai có dịp đến An Bằng sẽ bị choáng ngợp bởi những lăng mộ Huế nguy nga như những tòa lâu đài và trang trí xa hoa không khác gì lăng tẩm vua chúa thời xưa. Lạc vào khu lăng mộ này các bạn sẽ không hề cảm thấy sợ hãi hay rùng rợn gì bởi nhìn bên ngoài không ai biết đây là nơi chôn cất người đá khuất bởi nó quá xa hoa khiến ai cũng đều tò mò.
2. Đến với Khu lăng mộ tại làng An Bằng như lạc vào ma trận
Thành phố lăng mộ ở Huế có diện tích rộng khoảng 40.000 m2 trải dài đến gần biển và hiện tại có cả nghìn ngôi mộ trong đây rộng từ 40 – 400m2 với cổng cao 7-8m. 3. Các lăng mộ trong đây đều có kiến trúc đa dạng
Vẻ đẹp độc đáo khác lạ của làng lăng mộ ở Huế không chỉ thể hiện dựa trên quy mô đồ sộ, tráng lệ mà còn dựa vào kiến trúc đa dạng các phong tác tôn giáo từ Phật giáo, Nho giáo, Thiên Chúa giáo…. đều có.
Mẫu lăng mộ ở Huế được kết hợp những nét đặc trưng trong kiến trúc đá tại đây và được các thợ thi công dựa trên yêu cầu cũng như ý tưởng của gia chủ.
Thời xưa họa tiết trang trí mộ như bộ tứ linh gồm Long, Ly, Quy, Phụng chỉ dành cho bậc vua chúa, đế vương thì thời nay bạn sẽ thấy nó được khắc họa nhiều tại những ngôi mộ ở đây. Những linh vật uy nghi xuất hiện trên những bậc đá vữa dùng mãnh vừa uy nghiêm để canh giữ những ngôi mộ. Tại cột trụ thường có rồng phượng uốn lượn như đang bay trên nền trời xanh thẳm tạo cho người đến thăm cảm giác bớt đau buồn.Thậm chí cả bức Tứ quý Mai Lan Cúc Trúc tượng trưng cho bốn mùa Xuân, Hạ, Thu, Đông cũng được đắp nổi tinh xảo trong một số ngôi mộ tại đây. Ngoài ra, còn những bức tranh sơn thủy hữu tình được cắt ghép từ những mảnh sành sử đủ màu sắc tạo nên, để thể hiện tấm lòng của người sống muốn dành những gì tốt đẹp nhất cho người đã khuất được yên nghỉ.
4. Nếu có dịp đến đây bạn không nghĩ đây là nơi yên nghỉ của người đã khuất
Bất kể ai khi mới bước vào đây đều không nghĩ đây là nơi yên nghĩ cho những người đã mất bởi vẻ đẹp quá xa hoa, không hề u buồn, tang thương. Với cổng tam quan cao vút, vọng lâu ngắm cảnh, hòn non bộ làm bức bình phong, cùng với khuôn viên thoáng đãng… khiến nhiều người nhầm tưởng với biệt phủ quan lại thời xưa. Các ngôi mộ lại cao san sàn nhà dân khiến nhiều lúc thực sự khó phân biệt đâu là mộ đâu là đền miếu.
Không chỉ có khu lăng mộ nổi tiếng này mà ở An Bằng còn có rất nhiều nhà thờ họ khang trang được xây dựng lên. Dọc con đường nhỏ làm bằng bê tông tại các xóm nhỏ đều dễ bắt gặp những nhà thờ cao kín cổng cao tường và thường chỉ mở cửa vào dịp giỗ chạp, ngày rằm mùng một. Vì thế, xây lăng mộ khang trang cũng là cách con cháu thể hiện lòng thành kính, báo hiếu cho ông bà, tổ tiên.
5. Cách di chuyển để đến “thành phố lăng mộ”?
Để di chuyển đến làng An Bằng từ thành phố Huế có hai hướng dưới đây
- Đi hướng Đà Nẵng: Từ trung tâm thành phố Huế các bạn đi theo hướng đi Đà Nẵng được 16km sẽ có biển địa phận xã Thủy Phù. Tiếp đến giao lộ đường tránh Huế, bạn hãy rẽ trái theo hướng đi cầu Trường Hà, hết cầu rẽ phải đi đến địa phận xã Vĩnh An. Đến đây bạn sẽ di chuyển đến làng An Bằng và hỏi người dân đường đến đệ nhất lăng mộ Huế.
- Đi theo hướng quốc lộ 49: Từ thành phố Huế bạn đi theo hướng quốc lộ 49 theo đường ven biển Thuận An chừng 30km là đến xã Vĩnh An. Đến xã bạn đi tiếp đến làng An Bằng rồi di chuyển đến khu lăng mộ.
Do đó, xét khoảng cách từ hai hướng di chuyển này tương đương nhau nên tùy theo du khách lựa chọn.
